Crystal & Pete - 24 October 2009 in Harden

Long story,,,,,but wow, what a day. Heather and I drove down to Harden on Saturday morning for the wedding of Crystal & Pete. My parents both grew up here and I had spent a lot of time here myself so it was a real nostalgic visit for me. Thanks to the wonders of facebook I was able to locate some pretty amazing locations to shoot at. This town had everything a wedding photographer could love - vacant buildings, wheat paddocks, crazy church lofts and to top it off....some good country folk in the mix!!

Probably the highlight of our 11 hours together was Pete & Crystal's idea to leave the reception around 11:00pm to go for a walk to the train station. Not only was there a creepy underground tunnel but also......a very random 1km long freight train decided to come past the exact same time we were there!!!

Aside from the missing the turn off to Canberra at 1:30am the wedding was definitely a real highlight for us in 2009, thanks so much to a wonderful couple.

Fiona & Gavan - 17 October 2009

Quite the country landscape this weekend - just outside of Canberra was the wedding of Fiona & Gavan. A little bit of unexpected rain spoilt the photos for around 3 mins and then it was game on again......thank goodness - it gave up some of the most amazing light to play with.

It was another great bridal party full of laughs and good times. I must give a shout out to the lovely and talented Christine who helped me at very short notice. Although I missed my usual awesome assistant Heather for this one, Christine did wonderfully well and I would have her back anytime!!!

Marie Claire Telstra Young Business Woman of the year!!!

Just thrilled to bits to be able to share this wonderful - yet very surprising news!!!

Today was a great day - a wonderful lunch in the Great Hall at Parliament House. I was the finalist for two categories....The business owner award and the one I secretly was hoping to win - Marie Claire Young Business Woman of the Year. It was a highly emotional and terrifying thing to be involved with. I got up there and did my speech and thanked everyone that really mattered in my life!!! Such a special thing to be there and amongst other amazing women - very inspiring!

We now have the opportunity to go Nationally, when in just a few weeks we get flown down to Melbourne to mix it up with other amazing winners.....last amazing thing, some of our prize includes a wonderful cruise with P&O - this will force me to go on holiday, YAY!!

Clare & Drew - 10 October 2009

Another great wedding day in Canberra was had by all...was great to catch up with some old faces and new ones!! It certainly was a funny day with plenty of laughs and plenty of great photos. Clare looked just amazing - it was great to see a bride brave enough to wear their hair out!!!

Nikol & Michael - 3 October 2009

This day for Niki & Mike has been a long time coming.....these guys booked me 2 years ago and since then I have photographed so many of their wonderful friends - it was great for them to finally have their day!!

Just like Friday, we got wet and a bit cold but these guys were up for absolutely anything - including climbing hills in the rain and navigating their way through dirty carparks.

Thank you both for including me so much in your day - everything felt so familiar. I just loved what I've been able to do with your photos and can't wait to show off the rest soon!! K xx
